BLIND PEOPLE FEELING HUNDREADS METER BELOW THE SURFACE๐
What makes the world a difficult place for the visually impaired people? From navigating unfamiliar environments to accessing information and resources, visually blind individuals face unique challenges that can make everyday life more difficult. One of the biggest challenges that visually blind people face is the "gap" that exists between themselves and those who are sighted.
โI donโt have a problem with the way that I see,โ a filmmaker James Robinson says, โMy only problem is with the way that Iโm seen.โ
Today, I invite you to watch Emmy nominated video "Whale Eyes" with me. From today's weekly newsletter, I hope you will:
1. Watch the film "Whale Eyes". 2. Find a new perspective how people should interact with the visually impaired.
The video showcases what it is like to live with several disabling eye conditions. The filmmaker, James Robinson, enlists his family as subjects in a experience with playful graphics to invite viewers to experience the world as he sees it.

Robinson emphasizes the importance of human connection and encourages society to do a better job of accommodating peopel with disabilities. He calls for greater acceptance of those who ae often perceived as different or not normal.
More Than Anything
"More than anything," Robinson says on the film, "What I really hope you will understand is a few seconds of discomfort, for someone else is just one in a lifetime of little moments that have made them feel like they're hundreads of meters below the surface." "Even though they are really just standing a few feet in front of you, waiting to connect."
Lines between us alienate one another, and evenutally, myself. I am convinced that sharing love with others is antoher form of loving myself and my family. Let's make the world a better place, the world which the disability is no more obstacle of our connection.
